Wang Songbo, deputy director of the Department of Comprehensive Planning of the Ministry of Transport, said at a special press conference held today on the National Highway Network Planning (hereinafter referred to as the "Planning") that promoting the in-depth integration and development of national highways with other modes of transport and related industries is an important part of building a modern and high-quality national highway network.
On the one hand, the "Planning" focuses on promoting the organic connection and integrated development of the national highway network and other modes of transport network, and improving the integrity and synergy of the comprehensive three-dimensional transportation infrastructure network.
The first is to coordinate the construction of integrated transportation channels. Promote the overall planning of railways, highways and other infrastructure, and carry out the planning and construction of important river and bay crossing passages and highways, railways and rail transit shared passages in dense urban areas.
The second is to strengthen the integration and connection of transport hubs. Strengthen the connection of national highways to railway stations, airports, ports and other hub nodes, expand the scope of railway, water transport, and civil aviation transport services, and effectively support the construction of "National 123 Travel Traffic Circle" and "Global 123 Fast Cargo Flow Circle".
The third is to promote the integrated construction of road networks in urban agglomerations. Strengthen the overall planning and coordinated management of national highway and urban transportation planning and construction, and reduce the separation and interference of highways to cities.
On the other hand, the "Planning" gives full play to the basic supporting role of highway transportation in the development of the real economy, and strengthens the integrated development of national highways and related industries.
The first is to rely on the national highway network to develop the channel economy, pay attention to the in-depth integration and development of related industries such as tourism, manufacturing, logistics, and e-commerce along the route, improve the coverage level and service capabilities of the national highway to tourist attractions, industrial parks and other nodes, guide and optimize the regional industrial layout, and promote the smooth operation of the industrial chain supply chain.
The second is to enrich and expand the service functions of the national highway service area and supporting facilities along the route, improve the quality of the service area, and pay attention to the integration design with the natural landscape, history and humanities along the highway, strengthen the service functions of national highway culture, tourism, leisure and so on, and meet people's leisure tourism life needs.
